I am finishing off a quilt I am making for a friend, or should I say my friends baby who is due in a couple of months.
Instead of machine sewing the front to the back I have been hand stitching it with little knots. The front is a brightly patterned patchwork whereas the back in a nice plain blue with coloured thread. I think I have seen this technique in traditional Japanese quilts, but I can't be sure. (Yes it will be baby safe)
I am finding the process very relaxing and can't wait to send it to its new owner.
